Today was an important day for the University of Kentucky football program. The 2020 recruiting class is shaping up to be one of the best since Mark Stoops arrived in Lexington.
On Tuesday, Stoops and his staff landed several top prospects from around the country in four-star offensive guard RJ Adams and four-star offensive tackle Jeremy Flax.
Flax chose Kentucky despite being made a priority by the Auburn Tigers and Adams was previously committed to Penn State. That is some serious competition to beat out and what UK was able to do today was impressive.
The BBN was fired up about adding more depth in the trenches and most of the of the experts agree that getting these two guys was significant.
Here is what Twitter was saying about the Cats securing commitments from RJ Adams and Jeremy Flax.
All I can say is wow...I wanna thank everyone who has helped me get this far And I wanna thank every team for offering me and giving me a schoolarship but sadly I can only pick one school. And that school is THE University of Kentucky ⚪️ ⚪️ #BBN #GoWildCats #BIGBLUEWALL. pic.twitter.com/2NW29Ua088— Jeremy Flax 6️⃣6️⃣ (@FlaxNotFlex) December 17, 2019
Kentucky has four 4-star offensive linemen in this class. Mark Stoops’ No. 1 reason for success is dramatic improvement up front. https://t.co/XxeNGzXuiz— Kyle Tucker (@KyleTucker_ATH) December 18, 2019
I don’t wanna be like nobody else I don’t wanna follow in nobody footsteps . I wanna be me JEREMY FLAX that’s it. I rather make my own wave then ride one ♂️— Jeremy Flax 6️⃣6️⃣ (@FlaxNotFlex) December 17, 2019

Clinkscale and Stoops visited Flax in Kansas and his mother in Michigan on the same day last week. While in Michigan, the coaches read to students in Flax's mother's class (she's a teacher). https://t.co/t9983Hy4yE— Josh Edwards (@JEdwarCBS) December 17, 2019
Now I can prepare myself for about 8,000 Holly Flax-Jeremy Flax jokes I’ll hear for the next two years.— Adam Luckett (@AdamLuckettKSR) December 17, 2019
As the child of an elementary school teacher, I cannot imagine a better recruiting pitch to win the mom. Great touch. https://t.co/tzqhUpDc8U— Jon Hale (@JonHale_CJ) December 17, 2019

Kentucky continues to do it. The best part of it was that RJ Adams flipped his commitment from Penn State. https://t.co/esq2z5QXL0— Tres Terrell (@TerrellTres) December 17, 2019
The Big Dog strikes again with RJ Adams. Big time player for the OL. Welcome! pic.twitter.com/uoCjhSQAhR— Carter Hall (@BluegrassRec) December 17, 2019
Kentucky defensive coordinator @CoachWhiteFB was RJ Adams' lead recruiter. Must have done a bang up job because we were in the dark until this morning. NC State supplied the main competition.— Justin Rowland (@RowlandRIVALS) December 17, 2019
4⭐️ JUCO All-American OT Jeremy Flax has committed to Kentucky. Wildcat’s OL class now includes 3 4⭐️ players, the top OT from Michigan, and a top 3 OT from Alabama. pic.twitter.com/hoIkO4RFLZ— Wildcat Recruits (@WildcatRecruits) December 17, 2019
