4-star OL Jeremy Flax commits to Kentucky

Kentucky lands another big-time lineman.

Mark Stoops and his staff have been on a mission on the recruiting side of things, as they are putting together what is likely the best recruiting class in Kentucky history.

Despite the class already being loaded, they have now made it even better with a big addition.

On Tuesday, four-star JUCO offensive tackle Jeremy Flax out of Independence Community College committed to Kentucky.

This comes hours after four-star offensive guard RJ Adams picked the Wildcats.

Flax had narrowed his list down to the Kentucky Wildcats, Auburn Tigers and Texas Tech Red Raiders. Auburn was believed to be the favorite for most of this recruitment, but in recent days, the momentum started to flip towards Kentucky, and as you see it resulted in him picking the Cats. He will have three years of eligibility remaining.

247sports has Flax listed as the #19 overall JUCO player, the #2 offensive tackle in the nation and the #6 player from the state of Michigan. Scout.com has listed Flax as the #5 overall JUCO offensive lineman. Rivals has him listed as a four-star prospect.

As the class currently stands, Kentucky has landed a five-star, five four-stars and nearly a dozen three-star players. They entered the day with the No. 26 overall class according to Rivals, and coach Stoops and his staff aren’t quite done yet.

With the early signing period opening Wednesday, Kentucky is looking to get most of their class officially signed and then will be looking to add a few more big-time names to the class.

Kentucky has become “O-line U” in recent history with their line being able to lineup against SEC opponents and dominate the trenches.

We saw that a lot this season with Lynn Bowden at QB setting UK rushing records. That wouldn’t have been possible without the offensive line absolutely controlling the game.

With that being said, Flax is a guy that is going to come in and be a huge addition to the depth and talent level of the line.

Mark Stoops and his staff are doing things in recruiting that I didn’t think were possible at Kentucky. They are going and getting level of players that we haven’t seen here ever.

These players are seeing the success that we have been having on the field and it has led to a ton of success on the recruiting trail.

Flax is just another example of that and commitments like this, (beating Auburn for a recruit) is what should have the fans excited about the direction that this program is heading.
