After a week of rest, the Kentucky Wildcats will be back in action this weekend as they host the Tennessee Volunteers.
Saturday will be the 115th all-time meeting between the two schools that are separated by just under 200 miles. The Vols lead the all-time series 80-25-9 and have won 31 of the last 33 meetings.
The Wildcats’ most recent victory over Tennessee came during the Vols most recent trip to Lexington in 2017 Stephen Johnson and Benny Snell Jr. led the Cats to a 29-26 victory.
This season looked like it was going to be a nightmare for the Vols after they opened the season with a stunning home loss to Georgia Southern and then fell to BYU in overtime.
Since then, however, the Vols have turned things around, going 4-3 in their last seven games as they’ve picked up SEC wins over Mississippi State and South Carolina teams who defeated Kentucky this season.
As for the Wildcats, they opened conference play 0-3 but since have won two out of three including a 29-7 win over a Missouri team who came to Lexington tied for the SEC East lead.
Can the Wildcats win their second game over Tennessee in the last three years, or will the Vols dominance over the Cats continue?
