Good morning Big Blue Nation! The Governor’s Cup is upon us and I’m feeling great. The Kentucky Wildcats have a chance to win their second straight, three out of their last four, against their most bitter and hated rival: The Louisville Cardinals.
Louisville has had a surprise bounce back season after going 2-10 last year. Coach Scott Satterfield has injected life and competency back into the program after Bobby Petrino nearly cratered it.
Both teams have looked adversity in the face and have come out the other side. While the Cards had a new coach to contend with, the Cats lost starting QB Terry Wilson in the second game of the season. They are now looking at the possibility of 7 or 8 wins depending on the bowl game outcome. That is impressive, especially considering they are running a wide receiver at quarterback.
It should be a good game as the teams are evenly matched. But the weather should favor Kentucky’s style.

The current @SEC co-leader in sacks has played in 38 games with 21 starts, including every game this season. He has 79 career tackles, including 15.5 TFL and 9.5 sacks. pic.twitter.com/Ki9nzlcyHV
While his numbers aren’t as exciting as Josh Allen, he took a similar path. Taylor is a former two star recruit.

Quickies
Is Ashton Hagans the best point guard in the country? | Cats Pause- John Calipari certainly thinks so. Hagans dished out 12 assists in the win over UAB.
Where to watch UK vs. UofL and picks | WDRB- I love the fact that Louisville fans have to watch the game on the SEC Network. Both Crawford and Bozich pick UK to win.
Ole Miss player costs team win | CBS- The Egg Bowl was full of drama but this year more than most. An Ole Miss player was flagged after pretending to be a dog urinating during a celebration. Ole Miss missed the extra point after the penalty yardage and made Mississippi State bowl eligible.
Texas coach and AD see positive future | ESPN- So much for that “Texas is back” talk...
Staff predictions for UK and UofL | Cats Illustrated- I don’t like the closeness of the scores but I like the outcomes.
Big men propel Cats over UAB | WDRB- Both Nick Richards and EJ Montgomery scored in double figures. This is good need considering Nate Sestina injury.
I’ll be on the radio before AND after the game. Tune in!
