Top-30 prospect had an excellent summer and has many schools involved.
Hunter is a Class of 2022 recruit who is ranked 29th overall in addition to being the sixth-best shooting guard via 247 Sports composite. His highest ranking is 14th overall by ESPN.
The 6-3, 170-pound Hunter hails from Atlanta and plays for Westlake High School in Georgia. He already holds scholarship offers from the Auburn Tigers, Florida State Seminoles, Georgia Bulldogs and Clemson Tigers.
Hunter has a brother, Chase, who is a freshman for the Clemson basketball team. Their dad played football at Georgia.
Over the summer, Hunter won a Gold Medals with the USA Basketball U16 team in Argentina. Evan Daniels actually interviewed Hunter and gave a nice breakdown of his game:
A 6-foot-3 guard, Hunter drew praise because of his versatility and ability to play on and off the ball. Hunter has good quickness, showed good feel as a passer and also impressed with his defense, guarding both ones and twos.
“I’m best on the court getting everybody involved, playing defense,” Hunter explained. “I’m long so I disrupt a lot of shorter point guards and I can go get mine too.”
What’s next in his development?
“I have really come far with my three-point shot but I have drifted away from my mid-range,” Hunter said. “I used to do it a lot so I’m about to start going back to my mid-range.”
Here are some highlights of Hunter in action:
