The Kentucky Wildcats have once again been hit by the injury bug, as senior forward Nate Sestina will miss around four weeks due to a wrist injury that requires surgery.
However, that was the diagnoses before the surgery that took place Wednesday morning. Since then, John Calipari has offered up a most positive update:
Calipari after today’s practice says it could be just three weeks — “they even said maybe two” — that Nate Sestina is out. Told y’all to relax.

Kyle Tucker reported earlier that he was hearing the injury could sideline Sestina for just three weeks.
But that wasn’t the only good news Kentucky got, as freshman forward Dontaie Allen is now starting to practice:
Calipari says Dontaie Allen played a little half court today. That’s a big step. Cal says he’s actually energized by the challenge with Nate out. Liked look of guards + Whitney + one big was pretty good in practice.

Allen is working his way back from a torn ACL and a broken collarbone. Even while recovering from those, Allen was able to light drills and shooting during summer workouts, which drew some high praise, so much that some viewed him as the best shooter on this team.
The Kentucky native may have a small role when he returns, but just being a solid shooter off the bench in limited minutes could prove very valuable for a team that shooting is still a big question mark with.
