SEC Power Rankings for Week 14

The SEC Championship game is set

NCAA Football: Tennessee-Martin at Kentucky Mark Zerof-USA TODAY Sports

The SEC Championship game is set, as LSU and Georgia will be headed to Atlanta with big playoff implications on the line.

#1 LSU Tigers (11-0,7-0)

Last week: #1

The Tigers have officially locked up the SEC West and will be playing Georgia in the SEC Championship game.

Joe Burrow had another big game throwing for 327 yards and 3 TDs in the Tigers’ dominating 56-20 win over Arkansas.

LSU will now have to defeat a Texas A&M team that gave Georgia a battle this week in order to finish with a perfect 12-0 record.

Week 14: vs Texas A&M

#2 Georgia Bulldogs (10-1,7-1)

Last week: #2

Georgia didn’t have it easy this week against Texas A&M as this one came down to the very end.

The Bulldogs held the 13-3 lead at halftime, but they were never able to pull away for a comfortable lead.

In the end, they were able to make the necessary plays to get the 19-13 win and keep their playoff hopes alive.

Week 14: @ Georgia Tech

#3 Alabama Crimson Tide (10-1,5-1)

Last week: #3

Alabama is now without their QB giving the job to Mac Jones.

Jones has already seen some action this season replacing Tua for other injuries he faced. However, now he is the guy and had a good performance in this one.

He finished with 275 yards and 3 TDs in the 66-3 win over WCU. It was an all-around dominating performance for the Tide as they are trying to make a case for the playoffs.

They will have an opportunity to make a big statement in week 14.

Week 14: @ Auburn

#4 Florida Gators (9-2,6-2)

Last week: #4

The Gators had the week off ahead of their Week 14 game with a chance to finish with 10 wins in the regular season.

The 10-win mark should be attainable as they are facing a struggling Florida State team at home.

Week 14: vs Florida State

#5 Auburn Tigers (8-3,4-3)

Last week: #6

The Tigers took care of business against a lesser opponent this week as they rolled to a 52-0 win over Samford.

It was a big game for the ground attack as the Tigers rushed for 293 yards and 4 TDs averaging 5.5 yards per carry.

Auburn will have an opportunity to make a big statement when the Tide come to town.

Week 14: vs Alabama

#6 Texas A&M Aggies (7-4,4-3)

Last week: #5

The Aggies had a tough task this week going up against Georgia on the road.

However, they put up a good performance and was in this one the whole way and had a chance to go win it late.

Unfortunately for Aggie fans, the Bulldogs made the plays necessary to get the 19-13 win.

A&M will have yet another tough task next week as they have to travel to #1 LSU

Week 14: @ LSU

#7 Tennessee Volunteers (6-5,4-3)

Last week: #7

What an incredible turnaround for the Vols this season after their horrible start to 2019 and that embarrassing loss to Georgia State.

The Vols are now bowl eligible after their 24-20 win over Missouri. Something that I didn’t expect I would be typing this season.

Tennessee torched the Tigers through the air as they threw for 415 yards and 2 scores averaging 10 yards per pass.

Week 14: vs Vanderbilt

#8 Kentucky Wildcats (6-5,3-5)

Last week: #8

The Cats entered this week looking to become bowl eligible and that’s exactly what they did.

It took their offense some time to get going, but their defense gifted them 9 points right out of the gate with a safety and a fumble recovery in the endzone.

Eventually, the offense started clicking and the Cats were able to roll to bowl eligibility with a 50-7 win over UT Martin.

Now, they prepare for a matchup with the rival Cardinals.

Week 14: vs Louisville

#9 Mississippi State Bulldogs (5-6,2-5)

Last week: #10

This was a week that the Bulldogs needed to dominate against Abilene Christian and that is what they did rolling to a 45-7 victory.

That win sets them up to make a bowl game if they can get another win in week 14. Luckily, that game will be at home against a struggling Rebel team.

This has been a frustrating year for Bulldog fans but if they can get that 6th win next week it should be considered a successful season.

Week 14: vs Ole Miss

#10 Ole Miss Rebels (4-7,2-5)

Last week: #9

The Rebels had the week off and an extra week to prepare for their road trip to face the rival bulldogs.

While they will have a great shot to pull the upset, the Bulldogs will be highly motivated with bowl eligibility on the line.

Week 14: @ Mississippi State

#11 South Carolina Gamecocks (4-7,3-5)

Last week: #11

The Gamecocks had the week off after their blowout loss to Texas A&M that removed them from bowl contention.

Things won’t get any easier this week however when their rival comes to town.

Week 14: vs Clemson

#12 Missouri Tigers (5-6,2-5)

Last week: #12

Another week, another loss for the struggling Tigers team and this time as the hand of Tennessee.

This one was tied at 17 early in the 3rd but Tennessee was able to find the endzone and the Tigers could only find a FG as the Tigers fell 24-20.

After a great start to 2019, the Tigers season continues to fall apart.

Week 14: @ Arkansas

#13 Vanderbilt Commodores (3-8,1-6)

Last week: #13

Vanderbilt dominated their opponent this week as they defeated ETSU 38-0 to get their 3rd win of the season.

Vandy was able to do their damage on the ground as they rushed for 220 yards and 3 scores while averaging 7 yards per carry.

Ke’Shawn Vaughn rushed for 139 of those yards and 2 of the 3 TDs.

Week 14: @ Tennessee

#14 Arkansas Razorbacks (2-9,0-7)

Last week: #14

The Razorbacks lost yet again as they fell 56-20 to LSU.

This season has been brutal for the Razorbacks and I am sure they are just ready for it to be over.

Week 14: vs Missouri
