After a rough couple of games, the Kentucky Wildcats are starting to come alive, and that continued Sunday as they cruised past Lamar 81-56.
The Cats have struggled shooting the ball so far this season, but that wasn’t the case tonight, as they were 10/22 from deep for 45%.
It was another big performance from Nick Richards, as he finished with 10 points on 5/9 shooting, 13 rebounds, seven blocks and one assist. He did so while playing a team-high 35 minutes.
Ashton Hagans continues to play at a high level with his elite defense and is now finding a rhythm offensively. He finished with 15 points on 4/6 shooting, nine assists, three rebounds and two steals.
This performance should have BBN feeling a lot better about this team going forward.
Box Score
Game MVP
This was a tough decision as the Cats had multiple guys play at a high level. However, the MVP for this one is Tyrese Maxey.
Maxey played really well on the defensive end of the floor but was also making the right reads on the offensive end taking advantage of his opportunities.
He finished with 21 points on 8/11 shooting, 4/6 from three. He also had five rebounds, three assists, a steal and a block.
Maxey hadn’t had a big game since his dominating performance against Michigan State, so it was great to see him get back on track.
Hopefully, this will start to become the norm for him as they will need him to play at a high level to reach their full potential.
