On Monday, the Kentucky Wildcats will get their first chance to redeem themselves following an embarrassing loss to Evansville, as they’ll play host to the Utah Valley Wolverines.
Monday’s matchup will be a rematch of Kentucky’s 2017 season opener, when the Wolverines gave them everything they could handle, taking a large lead into halftime before the Wildcats rallied for victory in the second half.
There’s a chance Kentucky will be very short-manned again, as EJ Montgomery, and Dontaie Allen will be out again, while Ashton Hagans will be a game-time decision.
Kentucky will need both Nate Sestina and Nick Richards to step up in the frontcourt, as Utah Valley leads the nation in blocked shots. The Wildcats will also need solid performances from Immanuel Quickley and Tyrese Maxey with Hagans banged up.
It’s hard to call a November home game must-win, but that’s what this feels like after last week’s shocking loss.
