With several recruits still waiting to make a decision, the Kentucky Wildcats will be looking to add to their 2020 class this weekend.
Eric Bossi of Rivals discussed the top 25 remaining recruits in the 2020 class and how their recruitment is shaping up. One of the players discussed was the No. 3 power forward in the class, Isaiah Jackson.
Jackson is scheduled to make his announcement on Saturday, and he is going to decide between the Wildcats, Alabama Crimson Tide and Syracuse Orange.
But according to Bossi, this is a two-horse race between Kentucky and Alabama as we get closer to his decision.
“Jackson decides on Saturday and has seen all of his finalists. This one just might be too tight between Alabama and Kentucky to call coming down the stretch.”
Earlier this week, ESPN’s Jeff Borzello actually picked Kentucky to win this recruitment, but he wasn’t highly confident about it.
This one has been difficult to read all fall. After it originally looked to be a potential in-state battle, both Michigan and Michigan State were cut. And all three of Jackson’s finalists -- Alabama, Kentucky and Syracuse -- have had some momentum at different points in the fall. He took official visits to all three schools. The Crimson Tide have generated most of the buzz surrounding Jackson, but Kentucky has quietly positioned itself pretty well. The Wildcats are clearly looking for another forward to round out their fall group; could Jackson be that guy?
Prediction: Kentucky
Confidence level: 55%
With an already stacked backcourt for next season, Coach Cal and his staff need to add frontcourt depth, and Jackson would be a big get if he does pick the Cats on Saturday.
