Former Kentucky Wildcats star and current Kings point guard De’Aaron Fox will be out for several weeks due to an ankle injury, the team announced.

Fox sustained the injury at the end of practice on Monday. The Kings say Fox will be reevaluated in 3-4 weeks and his status will be updated then, so he’ll probably return sometime in December.

A third-year guard and fifth overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft out of UK, Fox is averaging 18.2 points, 4.0 rebounds and 7.0 assists per game in nine games for the Kings during the 2019-20 season. He was averaging 20.8 points per game in November before sustaining the injury.

Fox is eligible for a contract extension next year, making this a crucial season for the former Cat. Hopefully, he’s back on the court soon enough and gets back to his high level of play.
