Happy Monday morning, and since its Monday, that means new college basketball rankings will come out this afternoon.
Those rankings should have the Kentucky Wildcats at the top after the Cats, ranked #2 last week, took out #1 Michigan State last Tuesday night in the Champions Classic and then easily took care of business against Eastern Kentucky.
This will be the first time that the Cats have held the #1 ranking in the AP poll since the 2016-2017 season, coming off of a win against... Michigan State in the Champions Classic.
Kentucky will likely be followed by Duke, Louisville, Michigan State, and Kansas in no particular order when the poll comes out today.
And they’ll have the ability to hold onto that spot for a while with a favorable stretch in the schedule coming up until the three-game stretch of Utah, Ohio State, and Louisville beginning in mid-December.
It feels good to be back on top...
