The Kentucky Wildcats had a golden opportunity in Kroger Field against the Tennessee Volunteers. In heartbreak fashion, the ultimately fell 17-13.
Lynn Bowden got the start at QB for the 4th straight game. Unfortunately, the Vols were able to slow him down just enough to get the win.
Kentucky got off to an excellent start as they jumped out to the quick 13-0 lead. However, Tennessee made a change at QB and all momentum shifted.
The Vols scored 17 unanswered and all seemed bleak for the Cats.
A late fumble by the Vols set Kentucky up in a great spot, but a goal-line stand by the Vols crushed the Cats hopes of getting a win.
This loss stings and all of BBN feels the same way; heartbroken, angry, and disappointment, something we’ve grown far too accustomed to when it comes to Kentucky facing Tennessee or Florida.

Cats have a very tough loss. Very hard to win when you can’t throw it.
— Rich Brooks (@UKcoachbrooks) November 10, 2019
A lot of criticism coming for that loss
— Shawn Smith (@gbbcountry) November 10, 2019
Two plays to get one yard. That's all. This cuts deep.
— Nick Roush (@RoushKSR) November 10, 2019
Cats had both Florida and Tennessee at home and should have won both games
— Matt Jones (@KySportsRadio) November 10, 2019
What a different year it is if they do
For all Mark Stoops' success at Kentucky, hard not to lament the missed opportunities vs. Tennessee and Florida, especially considering how vulnerable those two programs have been in recent years.

This is a tough one to swallow.

Time of possession: UK 40:36, Tennessee 17:06.

Here is the thing about complaining about Stoop/Gran
— Matt Jones (@KySportsRadio) November 10, 2019
It is objectively impressive that UK has won 2 SEC games with WR at QB and no passing attack
BUT it is objectively depressing that the 3rd game was there for the taking and we can’t get 4 yards in 4 plays at home
No excuse to punt the ball at the end of the 2nd. Complacency! They couldn’t stop Chris Rodriguez and you put in Aj. Inexcusable. Terrible offensive game plan second half.

Found this loophole in the official rules of football. I say we try it in the next game. pic.twitter.com/tfrSiE9tlk

Kentucky Football... "Thank God it's basketball season!" #BBN

UK has blown major opportunities at home against Tennessee and Florida this season. UK’s come a long way, but no way Stoops should be 1-6 against both.
— Derek Terry (@DerekSTerry) November 10, 2019
It’s unbelievable but it’s not. It’s fascinating how this keeps happening. Over. And over. Again.
— #BBN All Things UK (@BBNWonka) November 10, 2019
Backup quarterback (1) for Tennessee (2) scrambling/running for the first down (3) to ice the win is just trolling UK by hitting almost all the curses at once.
— Justin Rowland (@RowlandRIVALS) November 10, 2019
Welp. Just like that, this looks like just about every Kentucky-Tennessee game for 30 years.
— Kyle Tucker (@KyleTucker_ATH) November 10, 2019
Kentucky ran for over 300 yards and lost. They’ve done that twice in losses against UT the past four years. https://t.co/Nuj2El5ahH
— Derek Terry (@DerekSTerry) November 10, 2019
That’s a back breaker for this season, you had a chance to win 8 games. One team made an adjustment and one team didn’t and it showed.
— Addison Thompson (@at88dosochos) November 10, 2019
Missed XP came back to haunt UK
— Travis Graf (@Trav_Graf) November 10, 2019
If Bowden had pitched to Rodriguez, Kentucky is up 20-17.
— Justin Rowland (@RowlandRIVALS) November 10, 2019
Wow. Kentucky stuffed twice from the 1-yard line. I’m telling you, this Tennessee series is more cursed than Florida.
— Kyle Tucker (@KyleTucker_ATH) November 10, 2019
Kentucky Football you break my heart!
— Stephen Lew (@biglewbleedsblu) November 10, 2019
This is a Florida-esque heartbreak.
— Travis Graf (@Trav_Graf) November 10, 2019
Sigh! Might be time to #FreeSawyerSmith
— John Huang (@KYHuangs) November 10, 2019
I don’t even wanna hear the excuses.

Nevermind. Kentucky absolutely blew it tonight. Was gift-wrapped for the Cats. Terrible, terrible loss. https://t.co/o02gUscX2m

If Bowden pitched it, would Chris Rodriguez have scored? pic.twitter.com/fWHCtyRbkk
