In their final tune-up before opening the season in a hyped matchup of #1 vs. #2, Kentucky will take on Kentucky State tonight in Rupp Arena.
To me, it’s another chance to see Kentucky do some lineup experimentation, especially with Nick Richards sitting out the game to recover from his ankle injury. Calipari and the Kentucky coaches will likely experiment with some small ball rotations to see what combinations find cohesiveness and chemistry on the floor.
Hopefully we will see more production out of EJ Montgomery and Kahlil Whitney, two players that will be called upon heavily that didn’t produce quite to the levels many fans hoped to see during Kentucky’s first exhibition game.
Kentucky has plenty of options to work with if Richards is forced to miss the season opener, but hopefully we see some players stand out tonight as the Cats prepare for Michigan State in the season opener.
What are you looking for or what do you want to see in tonight’s game?
