Former Kentucky Wildcats star Benny Snell has been waiting for his chance to prove what he can do, and now he will have an opportunity.
Snell hasn’t seen the field much this season at running back, as he has been behind James Conner and Jaylen Samuels.
On the year, Snell has carried the ball just six times and gained 30 yards while averaging 5.0 yards per carry.
Head coach Mike Tomlin announced today that Samuels had his knee scoped and is going to be out for about a month.
Coach Tomlin said Jaylen Samuels had his knee scoped yesterday and will be out for about a month.

Conner is now going to be locked in as the Steelers’ #1 back, but this means that Snell will now slide into the #2 role, and his snaps will increase.
Tomlin also praised Snell for the work he has been putting in on special teams, adding the former Cat is “chomping at the bit” to be a contributor in the backfield.
We all know what Snell was able to do during his time at Kentucky, so hopefully, we now will see him have a ton of success in the NFL.
The Steelers’ game Sunday will be on National TV, as they will be taking on the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday Night Football.
