John Calipari has been a man on a mission so far in the 2020 recruiting class, and he is now trying to reel in the No. 2 overall player in the class.

Cade Cunningham was originally scheduled to visit UK this weekend for Big Blue Madness. Then, he rescheduled that visit so he could attend a USA Basketball camp.

Now, Cunningham has once again rescheduled and will be at UK this weekend for Big Blue Madness like he originally planned to be.

In addition, Jack Pilgrim reports that before Cunningham makes it to Lexington, Calipari is making a trip today to visit with the 6-6 guard.

As of right now, it is believed Cunningham is down to the Oklahoma State Cowboys, North Carolina Tar Heels and Kentucky Wildcats with the Cowboys being viewed as the favorite.

However, Calipari has stressed recently that he wasn’t wasting time on recruits that he knows won’t end up in Lexington. Calipari clearly believes UK has a shot to land Cunningham.

If Cal pulls this off and Cunningham does end up at UK, this would be one of if not the most impressive recruiting victories of the Calipari era.

But Cunningham, isn’t the only elite recruit Calipari is visiting today, as he’s also going to see Scottie Barnes, according to Travis Graf.

Barnes is actually teammates with Cunningham at Montverde Academy, so it makes sense for Calipari to see both on the same day. While Oregon and Florida State have gotten the most buzz recently, UK is now believed to be a real threat for the top-10 recruit and five-star forward.

The No. 9 overall recruit is also planning an official visit to Lexington, though it has yet to be set in stone.
