Isaiah Todd cuts list to final 2 with no UK, who backed off him

New, comments

It’s been trending toward UK parting ways with Todd.

Overtime

2020 big man Isaiah Todd is the #12 overall player and the #2 PF in the class, and he is now down to two schools in his recruitment.

The final two teams on his list are the Kansas Jayhawks and Michigan Wolverines, while the Kentucky Wildcats did not make the cut. Todd just took an official visit to Kansas over the weekend, and they picked up a prediction from Rivals recruiting expert Corey Evans.

Apparently, UK backed off of Todd, as they wouldn’t even let him take an official visit to Lexington, he posted on his IG.

Chris Fisher of CatsPause also reports it was UK who backed off Todd.

There has been rampant speculation that Todd could end up overseas next year, so it’s no surprise to see this become another “parting ways” situation, similar to what happened with UK and both Jalen Green and Josh Christopher. The overseas threat is likely why UK backed off Todd.

In addition, John Calipari recently said he wasn’t going to let UK just be “a hat on the table” moving forward, so perhaps he thought Todd was just keeping UK on his list for more exposure.

Todd received an official offer from the Cats on February 20th, when John Calipari made the trip to visit him, and the Cats have been in the conversation throughout.

On September 9th, assistant Joel Justus was in to visit Todd. But since then, there’s been nothing to suggest he was still a serious option for UK, who has spent more time on guys like Isaiah Jackson and even in-state star JJ Traynor.

Whoever ends up with Todd, is going to be getting a very skilled big with a ton of upside to develop into a force. That is, if he even plays college ball at all.

Either way, Todd has a very bright future ahead of him.
