For the sixth consecutive season, Kentucky Basketball fans will get an early glimpse of the team in action on the SEC Network as they broadcast the annual Pro Day. In the previous five seasons, representatives from all 30 NBA teams have been in attendance. There is no reason to expect that will not be the case this year as well.
The last two years, this event has taken place in Rupp Arena. But due to construction, Pro Day will return to the Joe Craft Center. Players will be put through various drills to show speed, agility, jumping ability, shooting, wingspan, and quickness. They will also participate in 3-on-3 and 5-on-5 scrimmages.
This is a great opportunity for fans to be able to see the new players in action. Tyrese Maxey, Kahlil Whitney, Keion Brooks, Nate Sestina, and Johnny Juzang are all sure to be in the rotation this season, and Pro Day is often our first chance to put names with faces.
Another fan favorite portion of this day is the measurements portions. We will find out about the players’ sizes, their body fat, sprint times, hand size, and bench press ability. Some of these measurements can be telling to show us players that may surprise us with their athleticism, or lack of athleticism.
