The Kentucky Wildcats men’s basketball team isn’t the only hoops team ranked entering 2019-20.

The lady Wildcats have opened the season ranked No. 13 in the first AP Poll.

At No. 13, Kentucky is the fourth highest-rated team in the SEC behind Texas A&M (6), South Carolina (8) and Mississippi State (10). The Arkansas Razorbacks also made the cut at No. 23.

In addition to being rated 13th in the AP Poll, the Wildcats checked in at No. 14 in ESPN’s preseason top 25.

Despite losing Maci Morris and Taylor Murray to graduation, the Lady Cats have plenty of talent led by sophomore Blair Green from Harlan County, Kentucky.

Since Matthew Mitchell took over as head coach in 2017, the Wildcats have reached the NCAA Tournament nine times, including three trips to the elite eight.

This year, they will look to take the next step and reach their first Final Four in program history.
