The Kentucky Wildcats are on a ‘Final Four Drought’ if that’s what you would call it.

Having not been to the final weekend of college basketball since the infamous 2015 Wisconsin game, Kentucky is looking to snap that streak again this season after falling just an overtime period short against Auburn last season.

Will the Cats make it back to the game’s highest stage in 2020? Several hoops experts think it will happen.

Two of Sports Illustrated’s thinks the Cats get the job done and head back to the Final Four, though none of them expect UK to win it all.

Athlon Sports is also predicting UK will make it to Atlanta for the 2020 Final Four.

Here is what Athlon had to say about the Cats’ upcoming season:

Big Blue Nation may be growing a little restless after back-to-back disappointing NCAA Tournament upsets, but it remains difficult to argue with Calipari’s success in Lexington. The expectations will be high again for another preseason top-five squad. If the returners make the progress Calipari has predicted and 3-point shooters emerge, the Wildcats should be well positioned to end a four-year Final Four drought.

Postseason Prediction: Final Four

SEC Prediction: 1st

Kentucky certainly has the talent to make it back to the final four, boasting was is arguably going to be the best backcourt in entire country with Ashton Hagans, Tyrese Maxey, and Immanuel Quickley.

The Wildcats will have to find an identity in the front court, however, whether that be in the form of a healthy Nick Richards, EJ Montgomery significantly improving, or Nate Sestina and Keion Brooks being the surprising duo like they were against Georgetown College.
