Though there were many bright spots for the Kentucky Wildcats during their season-opening exhibition game against Georgetown College on Sunday, one downside from the action was big man Nick Richards rolling his ankle and failing to return to the game.
In his third year with the Wildcats, Richards is expected to take on an even larger role in terms of defending the rim. Kentucky is relatively deep in the backcourt but lacks depth at the center position and most certainly when it comes to defending the rim.
There’s hope that Richards’ bum ankle won’t keep him out long, but only time will tell how long Kentucky’s veteran big man will be sidelined.
