We are more than halfway through the 2019 college football season as Saturday marked Week 8 of what’s been a wild year of upsets, breakout performances and heavyweight battles.

Heading into to Week 9, the nationwide fan pulse top 25 saw a bit of a shakeup with Wisconsin falling to Illinois in a shocking upset.

Here’s a look at this weeks nationwide top 25:

Unsurprisingly, Wisconsin fell six spots from No. 6 a week ago to 12 after their stunning loss. In addition, Ohio State jumped to No. 3, moving Clemson to No. 4 in a shift that also was made in this week’s AP Poll.

As for the Big Blue Nation, the 2019 season has been a frustrating one full of injuries. Kentucky enters Week 9 with a 3-4 record and fresh off a 21-0 loss in the rain to Georgia in a game that saw the Wildcats keep the Bulldogs scoreless in the first half.

While it comes as no surprise Kentucky fans did not vote their Wildcats into their top 25, there was a pretty stunning change as a new No. 1 appeared on the Kentucky fan top 25.

Here’s a look at how the Big Blue Nation voted this week.

  1. Ohio State Buckeyes (4 last week)
  2. Alabama Crimson Tide (1)
  3. LSU Tigers (2)
  4. Clemson Tigers (3)
  5. Oklahoma Sooners (5)
  6. Penn State Nittany Lions (10)
  7. Georgia Bulldogs (8)
  8. Florida Gators (11)
  9. Auburn Tigers (6)
  10. Notre Dame Fighting Irish (9)
  11. Oregon Ducks (12)
  12. Wisconsin Badgers (7)
  13. SMU Mustangs (15)
  14. Minnesota Golden Gophers (16)
  15. Texas Longhorns (13)
  16. Cincinnati Bearcats (19)
  17. Utah Utes (17)
  18. Baylor Bears (24)
  19. Appalachian State Mountaineers (Unranked)
  20. Arizona State Sun Devils (21)
  21. Wake Forrest Demon Deacons (22)
  22. Virginia Cavilers (Unranked)
  23. Boise State Broncos (14)
  24. San Diego State Aztecs (Unranked)
  25. Virginia Tech Hokies (Unranked)

While there are some who have said Ohio State may be the best team in the country, it is a surprise the Big Blue Nation voted this week given their loyalty to the SEC throughout the voting process this season. However, it appears Alabama struggling at times against Tennessee this past week and the unknown surrounding Tua Tagovailoa and his ankle injury were enough to unseat them from the top spot.
