As if this season hasn’t been hard enough for the Kentucky Wildcats, one of their promising freshman has quit the team.
According to KSR, true freshman Shawnkel Knight-Goff has left the team. He has yet to appear in a game this season as he’s expected to redshirt.
The Class of 2019 recruit was the 24th-ranked weakside defensive end and the 399th-ranked overall recruit at 247 Sports.
This isn’t the first time Knight-Goff has backed off his commitment to UK, as he committed to the Cats in the spring of 2018, only to decommit in the summer before eventually re-committing in the fall.
Being that Knight-Goff is a Louisville native and played at Doss High School, one would think he could look to transfer back home if he chooses to continue playing football, but it’s unclear what his future holds at this time.
