Kentucky hosting Kok Yat for a visit

Yat will be in town for the Blue-White Game.

The Blue-White Game has quietly turned into a big recruiting day for Kentucky Basketball.

We already know how Jaden Bradley, Shawn Phillips and Paul McMillan IV for visits today, and you can add another 2022 recruit to that list.

According to Rivals analyst Corey Evans, Kentucky is hosting Kok Yat for an unofficial visit.

A 6-8, 175-pound shooting guard from Huntington Prep (WV), Yat currently holds offers from the Auburn Tigers, Arizona State Sun Devils, Boston College Eagles and New Mexico Lobos. He does not have an evaluation or ranking at Rivals, ESPN or 247 Sports, but seeing he already has several Power 5 offers shows that schools think he has the potential to develop into a major recruit in the coming years.

Yat recently took part in the 2019 Elite Preview Fall Camp, which features many of the top recruits from the Southeast. He was one of HoopSeen’s top performers at the event:

There wasn’t a more intriguing player that took the floor on Sunday than recent Norcross move-in Kok Yat. The 6-foot-8 forward has a polished skill-set and was comfortable handling the basketball in the open floor and half-court. His fluid motion, long strides, and speed were difficult for opposing defenses to match up with throughout the day. Yat shot the ball well from the perimeter and distanced himself from his peers with his shooting ability. With his combination of size, versatility, and ball skills, Yat is a prospect high-major programs are going to be all over going forward. He was the most talented prospect in attendance at the Elite Fall Preview camp. - Garrett Tucker

It’s obviously very early in the recruiting process for Yat, but it’s good to see John Calipari continues to cast a wide net in 2022 since many of the top guys in this class will strongly consider going straight to the NBA.
