Saturday, the Kentucky Wildcats will look to do something for the first time since 2009: beat the Georgia Bulldogs. The game is set for an ESPN broadcast at 6 pm EST.
While the Wildcats have ended long losing streaks to rivals Florida and Tennessee in recent years, they haven’t been able to crack the Bulldogs, who, outside of 2012 and 2016, have beaten Kentucky by at least two possessions during their nine-game winning streak.
All in all, Georgia is 58-12-2 against Kentucky all-time. This weekend, the Wildcats again come in heavy underdogs, as ESPN’s matchup predictor gives Georgia a 93.8% chance to win on their home field.
However, Georgia is coming off a stunning loss at home to the South Carolina Gamecocks that dropped them seven spots from No. 3 to No. 10 in the AP Poll. In addition, starting offensive lineman Justin Shaffer and Ben Cleveland will likely be out due to injuries.
Thus, there are some signs of hope for a Wildcats team coming into Athens with house money.
