The Kentucky Wildcats snap their three-game losing streak with a win over the Arkansas Razorbacks, 24-20.
Lynn Bowden was QB1 tonight and put on a show with 78 passing yards and one touchdown and an astounding 196 yards rushing and two more touchdowns.
It was also Jared Lorenzen Day, as Kentucky honored the beloved Hefty-Lefty. It was an emotional scene before kickoff but it was a surreal moment for all of Big Blue Nation.
One hell of a game by Lynn Bowden and the Wildcats to save their season.
Here’s what social media had to say about the wild night at Kroger Field:
A moment of silence just didn’t seem right, so the #BBN made 22 seconds of noise for Jared Lorenzen. #WeAreUK pic.twitter.com/6aiuakNDeO

What a brilliant performance by Lynn Bowden @LynnBowden_1 in a quarterback role tonight! @UKFootball beats Arkansas 24-20, gets to 3-3 mark halfway through 2019 season. Huge “must” win for the Wildcats in front of a rowdy crowd on Jared Lorenzen Night.

Only fitting. Jared Lorenzen night & Kentucky has an unorthodox QB leading them to victory #RIP22 pic.twitter.com/sPEnX4KZX0

It took Mark Stoops and his Kentucky staff two weeks to turn Lynn Bowden into a better QB than anything Chad Morris and his staff could at Arkansas with months to work with their players.
— SEC Mike (@MichaelWBratton) October 13, 2019
This is not an exaggeration.
I couldn’t be prouder of Lynn Bowden
— Mary Jo Perino (@mjp18) October 13, 2019
What a huge, huge win for Kentucky and legend-making performance by Lynn Bowden. Arkansas stinks, but that could’ve gone really badly and the season is toast if you lose this one.

Kentucky's win was a rare one given these stats.
— SEC Mike (@MichaelWBratton) October 13, 2019
Chad Morris was 17-3 when leading at halftime in his career before this game.
Mark Stoops was 6-34 in his career when losing at the half.

This one was for #22.
Take away Rakeem Boyd's 74-yard run on the first drive of the game and Kentucky held Arkansas to just 231 yards on 56 plays (4.1 yards per play).

Lynn Bowden on playing QB on the day UK honored Jared Lorenzen: "It’s very special. All the film they showed us throughout the week, I feel sorry for his family. He was a great guy, he was a legend here. I don’t want to talk about it, I might start tearing up. Too many cameras."
