Jordan Watkins decommits from UK

UK loses an in-state commitment who just visited Louisville.

Three-star recruit Jordan Watkins has decommitted from UK. This comes after Watkins took a visit to Louisville for their recent win over Boston College.

Watkins previously committed to UK back in June, but rurmos of a possible decommitment have swirled since that trip to Louisville.

Watkins is from Louisville and plays for Butler Traditional High School. He committed to UK while holding offers from the Louisville Cardinals, Rutgers Scarlet Knights and Central Michigan Chippewas among others.

The 6-0, 180-pound Watkins is ranked 869th overall by 247 Sports Composite, which measures all of the recruiting rankings in addition to being the 10th-ranked recruit from UK. He’s classified as an athlete prospect by ESPN, 247 and Rivals.

Louisville figures to be the early favorite for Watkins since this decommitment is coming right after his visit with the Cardinals. It’s unclear if he’ll still consider UK, or even if UK will continue to recruit him.
