It’s only a matter of time until Anthony Davis is traded from the Pelicans. What does his former college coach think of the situation?

On Thursday, John Calipari phoned in to ESPN’s Get Up! He spoke about his current team, but Cal also went into detail about the Davis situation. The belief is Davis wants to be traded to the Lakers, who were rumored to be targeting Calipari back in 2014 to be the team’s next head coach.

As you can imagine, Calipari was asked about that and the potential of coaching Davis in L.A., but he’s happy in college and thinks Luke Walton should remain the Lakers’ coach.

“I’m at Kentucky having a ball preparing young people for the rest of their life. It’s a different job than coaching in the NBA. I think Luke is doing outstanding work.”
