The Kentucky Wildcats get their second straight ranked win over the Mississippi State Bulldogs, 76-55. Kentucky fell behind early 4-0, but thanks to a Tyler Herro made three pointer and a Keldon Johnson breakaway dunk, the Wildcats took a 5-4 lead and never looked back.
PJ Washington led the way with 21 points and three made 3-pointers. Tyler Herro also had himself a night with 18 points and shooting a perfect 3-3 from behind the arc.
With some doubt about whether Kentucky might be overlooking the Bulldogs, they came out and ran them off the court in the second half while giving what looked like about 60% effort for most of the game.
Now bring on Kansas. Here’s what social media had to say:
Kentucky keeps rolling

Kentucky just beat No. 22 Mississippi State by 21 and held the Bulldogs to 31 percent from the floor. That’s good.

Beat ranked Miss St ✅
Beat ranked Kansas.... pic.twitter.com/4jT5d8r995
Kentucky rolled Mississippi State, another ranked opponent. This team is starting to look like a legit contender. Two losses at the buzzer to teams that went bananas from outside, and then there’s that opener that I think we can write off soon. Hagans changed this team big-time.

Kentucky wins it 76-55 a statement win as they've won five in a row.

Said it the other night, but it's funny how college hoops works. A week ago there were major questions about Kentucky. By the end of the day Saturday, they could have one of the 2-3 best resumes in ALL of college basketball

This really can be a remarkable Kentucky team. They’ve figured out how to play, they’re playing fundamental basketball and their cohesion looks so strong. They can really prove themselves against Kansas, but this is already back to back convincing wins against ranked teams.

I actually feel bad for all those folks who jumped off the Kentucky Basketball bandwagon during the first month of the season.

‘Cause we rollin now. See ya! Will send pics!
Kentucky held Miss State to 31.1% shooting tonight, its third-best FG% defense of the season, including 15% from 3-point range.

The No. 1 recruit for 2019, Anthony Edwards, was in attendance for tonight’s win. After the game, Ashton Hagans walked over and put his arm around him.

Cal said he told PJ Washington he left him out for six minutes and then he came in and played as good as he has all season. "Maybe I need to leave you out for six minutes (more often). Maybe you need to rest." Calipari imitates PJ mumbling/grumbling in disagreement.

This is such an unselfish UK team. They don't care who gets the points, they just wanna win. This bodes well for the future.

Nick Richards with 8 points, 6 rebounds (5 offensive) and a block in 10 minutes. The big man is crazy productive in his minutes over the last month-plus.
