The Kentucky Wildcats now have four wins over top-25 wins, and they’ve all come over the last month. The latest was a 76-55 win over the Mississippi State Bulldogs in Rupp Arena.
PJ Washington scored 21 points, including a trio of three-pointers and blocks to go with six rebounds. Tyler Herro added 18 points and five rebounds, as Kentucky pulled away for its fifth-straight victory.
They led for most of the game but had to survive some rough stretches that allowed the Bulldogs to get within 41-39 with 13:39 remaining.
Kentucky answered by scoring 18 of the next 25 points over the next 6:50, helped by Herro’s three free throws and consecutive three-balls by Immanuel Quickley and Washington.
Kentucky is now 15-3 on the season and 5-1 in SEC play, good for third place behind LSU (4-0) and Tennessee (5-0). The Wildcats get another crack at a top-25 team on Saturday, as the No. 9 Kansas Jayhawks come to Rupp.
