The Kentucky Wildcats are in the midst of a difficult stretch of games, and that will continue when they travel to face the Florida Gators in two weeks.

On Sunday, Kentucky announced that the game, scheduled for February 2nd, will be broadcast on ESPN at 4pm EST. It will come after a Saturday road game at Vanderbilt for the Wildcats, who will face a pair of top-25 teams in Mississippi State and Kansas this week.

After winning at Auburn, Kentucky’s season is trending upward in a big way, and they’ll hopefully continue their momentum by holding serve at home this week against a pair of quality opponents.

But don’t sleep on the Gators, who have actually won two straight and three of four in the series. That includes a rare sweep of the Cats this past season, as Florida narrowly won at Rupp Arena, then handled the Cats in Gainesville.

Unfortunately, the Gators have been a disappointment this season, as they’re currently 10-7 and 2-3 in SEC play. Things got worse this weekend, as redshirt junior Keith Stone suffered a torn ACL in Florida’s 62-52 win at Georgia on Saturday. Stone was actually a key player in both wins over Kentucky last season, as he recorded 24 total points, nine rebounds, three assists and two steals.

For what it’s worth, KenPom currently has the Gators ranked 23rd, while ESPN BPI has them at 26th. Speaking of, ESPN’s matchup predictor currently gives Florida a 54.5% chance of winning at home.

Here is a look back at the last time Kentucky beat Florida on the hardwood, which featured an epic performance by Malik Monk:
