Half No. 2 couldn’t have been more different. Both teams caught fire and it turned into more of an NBA team in the second half. Kentucky built a big lead, but a furious Auburn rally led to both teams trading big bucket after big bucket in the final minutes.
Kentucky led most of the way, but Jared Harper buried a three with 40 seconds left to give Auburn an 80-79 lead. Then, Tyler Herro got fouled on the other end, hit both free throws, then Kentucky got a stop to preserve the win.
It was as frantic of a finish Kentucky has been in this season, but the young Cats came away with an 82-80 win.
