Unfortunately, we have some bad news about a former Cat in the NBA.
Anthony Davis who is having an outstanding season averaging 29.3 points, 13.3 rebounds, 4.4 assists, 1.7 steals, and 2.6 blocks on the year is going to be out for 1-2 weeks with an injury.
The injury happened with around 3:40 left in the 4th quarter last night against the Portland Trail Blazers when Davis took a swipe at the ball and his hand caught Zach Collins’ elbow and you could tell he was in pain.

We're still waiting to hear about the severity of the injury. The good news is that he was able to finish the game. pic.twitter.com/uDb2hknxUG
He would however remain in the game before he was taken out with 1:18 remaining seeing that the Pelicans were down big. The Blazers would go on to win the game 128-112. Davis finished the game with 27 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists, and a block.
This morning, the Pelicans took to Twitter to announce that Davis will be out with a left index finger sprain.

Thankfully it isn’t too serious of an injury and he will be fine in a week or two, but no one wants to see an injury happen, especially to one of the best basketball players in the world.
As for the playoff standings, the Pelicans are currently in 12th place and sit 4 games back of the 8 seed. Without Davis playing for the next two weeks, one would assume that the Pelicans are going to fall even further behind in the standings, and they may even go into tank mode and try to get as good of a pick as possible in June.
