The new No. 1 player in the Class of 2019 at 247 Sports has set an official visit date to Lexington, as he will finally visit John Calipari and the Kentucky Wildcats.
Edwards will begin his visit Monday and be in town Tuesday when Kentucky hosts a top-25 Mississippi State team.
After originally scheduling all five of his official visits, which included Duke, Michigan State, Florida State, Kansas, and Georgia, Edwards would eventually cut two of those schools (Duke and Michigan State) from his list. Edwards is down to five schools: Florida State, Georgia, Kansas, North Carolina, and Kentucky.
This could potentially be really good news for Kentucky, as it was earlier reported that Edwards was not even going to take a visit to Kentucky. Never doubt Calipari when he gets a guy on campus that he really wants. Although Florida State is the presumed leader and favorite to land Edwards.
If Kentucky could close out this recruiting period by snagging Jaden McDaniels, Matthew Hurt, and potentially Anthony Edwards, then oh boy.
