The Kentucky Wildcats are headed towards their second straight conference road game ast they travel to Alabama to face the Auburn Tigers. This is their fourth road game out of the last six games overall.
So far they are 2-1 in true road games and if the Cats can win at Auburn they will be true road warriors. The last time they won at Auburn was 2014. Since then the Cats are 0-2 there. Bruce Pearl has done a fantastic job of getting in talent and injecting life into a once dead program.
The atmosphere at Auburn is always one of the most hostile in the SEC and UK will definitely have their work cut out for them on Saturday at 4:00 PM.

Zone defense is the worst.
Quickies
Ashton Hagans vs. Jared Harper | Lexington Herald Leader- This is a heavyweight matchup for two of the SEC’s best point guards. The emergence of Ashton Hagans came at the perfect time.
Josh Allen high on Mel Kiper, Jr.’s first mock draft | ESPN- The Kentucky defensive juggernaut is slotted at #2 of Mel Kiper’s Mock Draft 1.0. Josh Allen is right behind defensive end Nick Bosa. Bosa was injured and decided to leave Ohio State to pursue his pro career. Allen came back to UK for his senior year in order to become the best defensive player in college football and win a Citrus Bowl for his team. It won’t shock me if Allen ends up #1.
UK offers Antonio Gates, Jr. | Cats Pause- Kentucky has offered a slew of players in recent days. While Gates, Jr. may not be the highest profile guy he has the highest profile dad.
College QBs pushing NCAA towards free agency? | WDRB- Justin Fields and Tate Martell decided that they weren’t going to play at their current school next season so they decided to transfer and press the NCAA to make them eligible now. This has been a common theme this offseason and the NCAA has an interesting decision to make.
UK Hoops win at LSU | UK Athletics- The Cats were up one with 20 seconds to go when Keke McKinney hit a three to put the Cats up by four and the game out of reach for the Tiger. A nice bounce back after a disappointing home loss.
Tre Jones expected back sooner than later | CBS- Duke point guard Tre Jones suffered what looked like a serious shoulder injury earlier this week vs. Syracuse. But Coach K reassured everyone that it’s not as serious as they feared and that Jones could be back sooner than they thought. Maybe even as soon as Saturday vs. Virginia.
Super Bowl QB matchups could present generation gaps | Sporting News- Pat Mahomes and Jared Goff are what’s next for NFL QB’s while Tom Brady and Drew Brees represent the elder statesmen of excellence.
Scottie Pippen says Zion Williamson should end Duke career early | USA Today- Pippen thinks we’ve seen enough of Zion Williamson to know that he is the best player in college basketball and he’s the number one draft pick. By that logic, Zion should save his body from injury and shut it down at Duke. I’m all for this, Mr. Pippen!
