Five-star center Isaiah Stewart is expected to make his college decision soon. Based on the recent buzz, his likely destination is becoming clear.

247 Sports recruiting director Evan Daniels just logged a prediction in favor of the Washington Huskies for Stewart. Washington has been getting almost all of the buzz in this recruitment over the last month, as it feels like it’s a matter of when, not if he picks the Huskies.

The Kentucky Wildcats, Michigan State Spartans and Duke Blue Devils are also in the running, and many thought Duke was the favorite as the 2018-19 college hoops season began. However, they already have a commitment from Vernon Carey, and there’s been some thought that Stewart wants to play in a frontcourt he’ll largely command.

Kentucky has stayed in the running for Stewart, but it’s been viewed as a longshot ever since his official visit to Lexington in the fall.

With Stewart likely off the board, Kentucky won’t have any true center targets for the 2019 class unless someone reclassifies.

The good news is it’s looking more and more like Nick Richards and EJ Montgomery will be back next season, and Kentucky is still in the running for five-star forwards Jaden McDaniels and Matthew Hurt.

Speaking of McDaniels, Washington is viewed as the biggest competition for Kentucky in this recruitment. The potential to have a lineup that includes McDaniels, Stewart and Quade Green once he’s eligible next season offers a lot of promising for Mike Hopkins’ program.

Still, Stewart at Washington isn’t nearly as dangerous as being at Duke or Michigan State.

The expectation is Stewart will make his decision very soon, possibly by the end of January.
