So, remember all the talk about Karl-Anthony Towns underperforming earlier in the season? Back when the Timberwolves had Jimmy Butler?

Well. last night. KAT dropped a casual 27 points and 27 rebounds and added four blocks to go alongside that.

Read that again: 27 points. And 27 rebounds. That is a stat that has not been accomplished in 45 years.

Only five players in the history of the NBA have ever recorded 27 points, 27 rebounds, and four blocks, and KAT just made himself one of them. He joins fellow Kentucky Wildcat and potential NBA All-Star Game teammate Anthony Davis as the only players with 25+ points and 25+ rebounds in a game this season. KAT also completed this feat against the Pelicans’ Anthony Davis and Julius Randle.

Even the Kentucky basketball twitter account could not believe it:

The Timberwolves need every bit of it, as they’re barely staying in a playoff race that’s become very competitive in the Western Conference.

Take a look at the impressive highlights down below, and go vote to send KAT and Anthony Davis to the NBA All-Star game here.
