The buzz continues to build for the Kentucky Wildcats in the recruitment of Jaden McDaniels.
Slowly but surely, John Calipari and his staff have continued to make up ground since the fall, when many expected the five-star forward to land at Washington or San Diego State (where his brother plays).
Since then, McDaniels has shifted his focus to his final season of high school basketball, so updates in this recruitment have been few and far between.
However, Rivals recruiting guru Eric Bossi just gave an update that will bring some hope to the Big Blue Nation:
Most seem to think he’ll stay out West but I’ve been feeling Kentucky on this one if I had to pick. But, the reality is we are all guessing on him right now.
This falls in line with a recent update from KSR that also said Kentucky was in great shape.
It’s also worth pointing out that McDaniels’ father has effectively been handling his recruitment. So, if anything is getting out on who is in the best shape in this recruitment, it’s fair to think it’s from McDaniels’ dad. And if you have the parents in your corner, that would bode very well for Kentucky.
It also helps that Kentucky was once McDaniels’ dream school. While he’s backtracked on that, it’s certainly another feather in Kentucky’s cap that he’s been considering them for a while now.
Of course, a lot can change between now and the spring, when McDaniels is planning to make his decision. Depending on who skips the NBA Draft to return to Kentucky, as well as who else they get in the 2019 class, that will play a part in what McDaniels decides to do.
