What a fantastic day this is. The Kentucky Wildcats grind out a win in a very good game against the Penn State Nittany Lions for their first 10 win season since 1977 and it comes with a New Year’s Day bowl victory.
Josh Allen dominated the game with 3 sacks and made a case for himself to be selected with the first pick in the NFL Draft come April.
Benny Snell broke Sonny Collins’ record for career rushing yards and is now the certified GOAT for Kentucky Wildcats football.
And the special teams and defensive units could not get enough credit for the way they played in the game. The special teams forced two missed field-goals and Lynn Bowden got the party started with a 58-yard punt return to go up 10-0.
What a fantastic season for the Wildcats as they finish 10-3 on the season. Here’s what social media had to say:
HISTORY. MADE.

@UKCoachStoops and Co. for the best, by far, season of Kentucky Football of my conscious life (I can’t remember those mid 70’s years). That was a lot of fun.

The overrated, ESPN-manufactured SEC is now 4-1 in its CFP/New Year's bowls, with the four wins all vs. Top 12 opponents. Only Georgia-Texas left.

I’ve never had more fun watching @UKFootball. It wasn’t long ago I covered back-to-back 2-10 seasons. What. A. Season. What. A. Group. The 2018 season was legendary and 2019 is off to a hot start. Thank you, @UKCoachStoops

We talk about players improving but I think you can see Stoops has improved as a game day coach, too. His teams didn’t get frantic like they would have in previous years.

Dream Season: Kentucky has its first 10-win finish since 1977. Ended the streak at Florida, pummeled rival Louisville, beat Penn State in a New Year’s Day bowl, sending off the greatest running back and pass rusher in school history in style.

GREAT ending to a historic season for @UKFootball. Come-from-behind wins. Unbelievable defensive play making. Opportune offensive plays. Great coaching. And the best fan base in the country that deserved this. What a finish to the season! Congrats to @UKCoachStoops and his team!
