Do Do Geuye emerging as a Kentucky target

Could John Calipari dip into the JUCO ranks for a talented big man?

Here’s something you don’t hear very often. According to 247’s Evan Daniels, JUCO prospect Do Do Geuye has began to draw interest from the Kentucky Wildcats.

Geuye is a 6’9, 230 pound basketball player for Daytona State College, a junior college in Daytona, Florida.

Originally from Senegal, Geuye played his high school ball in Japan, along with one year of college there, before moving to the United States a couple weeks ago to attend Daytona State.

“He plays like a Jaylen Brown,” his advisor Ro Russell said. “He’s 6-9, can put it on the floor, change directions and is really strong. He gets to the basket with authority.”

Russell went on to add that Geuye reminds him a lot of Draymond Green due to his ability to do everything.

This is rare waters for the Wildcats, but if the comparisons to Draymond Green and Jaylen Brown are true, it isn’t as surprising as it may seem.

The recruiting process is just beginning, however, for Geuye, but the interest is already pouring in.

According to Russell, Ole Miss, Western Kentucky, Kentucky, UAB, Texas Tech, Michigan and Arizona are the schools that have already reached out.

“I’m trying to get to the league and play in the NBA,” Geuye said.

I can’t think of a better place than Kentucky to help a young, raw recruit fulfill his dream of playing in the NBA.

Geuye will have two years of college eligibility after this season. He’s definitely someone for Kentucky fans to keep an eye on.
