John Calipari recruits just as hard as he coaches, which is why Kentucky has found success year after year since the coach arrived in Lexington.
Per 247Sports, Cal is already looking to the 2021 class as the top point guard will make the trip to Rupp Arena for Big Blue Madness on October 12th.
Khristian Lander, the top-ranked point guard, is also the 14th best prospect. Locking up the top point guard in a loaded class would be a huge angle in the recruiting department, though it’s hard to see Cal offering a scholarship this far out unless it’s someone who could reclassify.
Don’t be discouraged by images, as Lander stands at 5’11 and weighs just 150 lbs. The young star has plenty of time to build his body and grow into it.
Other teams are seeing Lander’s potential, too, as he’s received offers from both Illinois and Purdue.
With Lander from Evansville, Indiana, it’s nice to see Calipari recruiting close to Lexington. It will also be nice to see Lander, along with Dontaie Allen, RJ Hampton and Vernon Carey, at a what is expected to be an exciting Big Blue Madness.
With James Wiseman set to visit this coming weekend followed by Scottie Lewis, Bryan Antoine and Oscar Tshiebwe in consecutive weeks, Calipari looks to be getting a jump on other schools while also dominating the current season.
