The Kentucky Wildcats are taking a hit to their running back depth.
Following Kentucky’s win over South Carolina, head coach Mark Stoops met with the media and recapped the win. Stoops also gave an update on senior running back Sihiem King, who has played sparingly as of late and didn’t even play vs. South Carolina.
With the new college football redshirt rule, King can now redshirt and have one more season of college football left.
Does that mean King is about to transfer from Kentucky?
“We’ll address that later.”
It sounds like King is probably going to end up finishing his college career somewhere other than Lexington. He was the backup to Benny Snell last year and played well in the limited snaps he got.
However, King lost the backup spot to AJ Rose this year, and Rose has been one of the biggest breakout players.
If King doesn’t play again this season, Kentucky will have junior Zach Johnson and true freshman Chris Rodriguez up next.
Hopefully, King gets a shot somewhere.
