Kentucky Football beats South Carolina: Highlights, Box Score, and Game MVP

The Wildcats continue their rise up the college football hierarchy.

Jason Marcum - Sea of Blue

The Kentucky Wildcats are now 5-0 and flying up the rankings following their win against the South Carolina Gamecocks.

After a fast start, the Cats came out slow after halftime. But the Kentucky defense stood strong and allowed Kentucky to hold on to a 24-10 win.

Benny Snell didn’t have his best game, going for 98 yards on 28 carries. However, Terry Wilson picked up the slack.

Terry “Touchdown” Wilson ran for a touchdown and proved too much for the South Carolina defense.

The Cats are now one game away from bowl eligibility, and very well in the running to play Georgia for a chance at an SEC Championship.

Game MVP

It’s always hard to pick against Benny Snell, especially when he’s an absolute work horse, but I had to go with Terry Wilson today.

While South Carolina’s defense keyed on Benny throughout the game, Terry “Touchdown” stepped up.

Wilson went 13/20 for 132 yards. He also ran 9 times for 59 yards and a touchdown.

The numbers might not blow anyone away, but they were good enough and they kept South Carolina’s defense honest. The threat of Wilson also helps force defenses to have one man account for him, and that can end up being one less man Snell or AJ Rose have to make miss.

Wilson lived up to his nickname today.
