Former Kentucky Wildcats national champion Anthony Davis, has been more involved in trade rumors more than any other player in The Association throughout the past few seasons.
While part of that is due to the New Orleans Pelicans being in a small market and unable to successfully draft/sign marquee free agents, it’s mostly been the media hyping up the trade talk.
However, Davis signed with a new agent last Saturday: Rich Paul.
Paul, a well-known agent for Klutch Sports, is also the agent for new Los Angeles Lakers All-Star Lebron James. After connecting the dots, there seems to be a reason for why Bovada has the Lakers as the favorite to acquire Davis by the start of next season.
The Anthony Davis bonanza. #Lakers (-190)#Celtics (+250)#Pelicans (+300)#Warriors (+750)

While the Warriors seem like a long shot, don’t underestimate their front office. Who would’ve thought they’d swoop in and snatch top-free agent, Kevin Durant, from the likes of the Boston Celtics, Oklahoma City Thunder & Washington Wizards.
Speaking of the Celtics, they currently have the second-best odds to land the former Wildcat and certainly the most assets. Budding stars Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum are improving by the second and general manager Danny Ainge seems to own multiple picks in every draft.
However, with Lebron & Paul in Davis’s ear, along with Lebron’s former team dumping their entire chest of assets for win-now players, it makes too much sense for Davis to end up in LA for the second coming of ShowTime.
While the Pelicans can offer Davis the most money in an extension or on the open market, don’t be surprised if Las Vegas is right yet again.
