Another day, another offer out in the Class of 2020 for the Kentucky Wildcats.
This time, it’s Sharife Cooper, who is actually visiting Lexington this weekend. Jason Jordan of USA Today broke the news.
This comes after John Calipari offered scholarships to five-star wing Jalen Johnson and five-star point guard Jeremy Roach earlier this week.
Cooper, hailing from Marietta(GA), already has offers from the Auburn Tigers, Florida Gators, Tennessee Volunteers, UCLA Bruins, Florida State Seminoles, UConn Huskies, and Clemson Tigers. Auburn currently leads his crystal ball.
The 6-0, 160-pounder is ranked 19th overall in 2020 by 247 Sports in addition to being the second-ranked point guard, trailing only Roach. It’s interesting to see Calipari has already offered the top point guards in this class, but he always recruits the best, regardless of position, and he’s probably selling them on playing together in Lexington.
You’d be hard pressed to find a coach that’s played two point guards together and had as much success as Calipari has had during his tenure in Lexington. It sounds like he’s working to make Cooper/Roach his next duo.
Cooper, Roach and Johnson join five-star center N’Faly Dante and five-star wing Scottie Barnes as 2020 recruits holding offers from Kentucky.
