John Calipari visits Lance Ware and Sharife Cooper; Cooper will visit this weekend

John Calipari is a busy man, still building the 2019 class while getting a jump start on 2020.

John Calipari has been hot on the recruiting trail during the fall recruiting period, trying to set a strong foundation with front court players for the 2019 class.

With only three commitments and none of them being big men, he has been prioritizing that role in the early part of the recruiting period.

For now, it seems he has shifted his focus to 2020. He continues to be a very busy man.

On Wednesday, Calipari visited top 50 power forward Lance Ware in Burlington, NJ as well as the No. 2 point guard in the class, Sharife Cooper.

In addition to Calipari visiting Cooper on Wednesday in Marietta, GA, USA Today Sports is now reporting that Cooper will be in Lexington this weekend on an unofficial visit.

For the last several years, Calipari has been able to get an early commitment from a point guard who has, in turn, turned into a recruiter in his own right. After offering No. 1 point guard Jeremy Roach a scholarship on Wednesday, could Cooper receive one this weekend as well?

Cooper already has offers from most of the SEC as well as the UCLA Bruins, Florida State Seminoles, UConn Huskies, and Clemson Tigers.

Ware has yet to receive an offer from a top-tier program, but the Louisville Cardinals are very active in his recruitment in addition to the Maryland Terrapins, Seton Hall Pirates, and Providence Friars, who have all offered him a scholarship.

Calipari has only offered four scholarships for the 2020 class, including Roach, Scottie Barnes, Jalen Johnson, and N’Faly Dante.

Kentucky fans love to see Calipari so active on the recruiting trail, and with Big Blue Madness now on the horizon many expect a few recruits to become commits sooner rather than later.
