Paul Finebaum had Benny Snell on his TV show on Monday to talk about the Wildcats’ win over Mississippi State.
Snell talked about the start of his Heisman campaign, Kentucky still being disrespected, and himself and the team wanting to prove the doubters wrong.
“A lot of outside talk, a lot of doubt before the games but here at Kentucky, we focus on playing football, being the aggressive team, jumping on our opponent. This is a new year, a new team,” Snell said. “I try to shut it out but I’m always watching football and I’m seeing the pregame predictions and we just take it as motivation.”
Finebaum even went as far as giving Benny and the Cats some bulletin board material by saying that South Carolina was favored over Kentucky, which they are according to ESPN.
”Every game. Week by week,” Snell said. “I’m chomping at the bit. I got a chip on my shoulder. We got some doubters to prove wrong and we’re going to keep doing it.”

Snell has rushed for 540 yards and seven touchdowns on the season, averaging 135 yards per game, which is good enough to lead the SEC.
And Benny did all of this while rocking what looks to be an Anthony Davis shirt. Davis was inducted into the UK Athletics Hall of Fame this weekend, and you can bet Snell will join him there some day.
Good call, Benny, good call.
