New College Football Top 25 Polls include Kentucky Wildcats

An upset-filled week saw some major shakeups in the latest top 25 polls.

A wild Week 4 of college football has led to some big shakeups in the latest top 25 Polls.

The top 10 teams managed to avoid any major upsets this week, though Oklahoma did almost lose at home to Army before prevailing in overtime.

The real action was in the 13-25 range, where seven teams went down, including Virginia Tech’s shocking loss to Old Dominion. Oklahoma State lost to unranked Texas Tech, while TCU was dismantled by Texas.

Texas A&M got crushed by Alabama, and Oregon lost a heartbreaker to Stanford.

Oh, and did we mention the Kentucky Wildcats beat 14th-ranked Mississippi State? That, combined with those other aforementioned losses, allowed the Wildcats to surge into the polls this week.

The latest Coaches Top 25 Poll has Kentucky checking in at No. 17 overall. It’s the first time in the Mark Stoops era they’ve made it into the top 25, and it wa well deserved after Kentucky crushed Mississippi State.
