UPDATE
It now appears Scottie Lewis will not make his college decision this week.
According to KSR’s TJ Walker, Lewis’ AAU coach, Brian Klatsky, said a decision will not happen this week.
That’s probably not great for Kentucky, as they had the momentum in this recruitment after Lewis’ visit to Lexington, which was followed by a visit from John Calipari not long after.
This is going to be a tight race right down to the end with Florida.
Recruiting under John Calipari has always been interesting to say the least, and he is in position for yet another top recruit in the country in Scottie Lewis, who sounds ready to tell everyone where he is going to be playing his college ball at.
On Sunday, Lewis posted this message on Instagram, suggesting that we’re on the verge of learning where the five-star wing is going.
The expectation has been Lewis would decide very soon after taking his official visit to Kentucky and cutting St. John’s from his list, as he had planned to officially visit the Red Storm on October. This also comes after Calipari met with Lewis not long after his visit to Lexington.
The 6-5 small forward from Eatontown, NJ has narrowed his list down to two teams: The Florida Gators and the Kentucky Wildcats. Lewis, according to 247sports, is the number 11 player (#4 SF) in the 2019 class.
John Calipari and the Kentucky Wildcats were an early offer to Lewis as he was one of the first players to receive an offer to Kentucky out of the 2019 class. Lewis was on campus for a visit the weekend of September 14th where Cal and the staff showed Lewis around and explained to him how he would be used at Kentucky.
For quite some time now, Lewis has been believed to be heading to Florida to play for Mike White and the Gators. But recently, Kentucky has been making a surge in the recruitment as we learned that Lewis has interest in playing with Kahlil Whitney and Tyrese Maxey, who have already committed to Kentucky for 2019.
Just listened back to my interview with Tyrese Maxey. One thing that stood out: He said he talks to Scottie Lewis "almost every day." Considering Lewis is down to Kentucky and Florida, that's gotta be a good sign for UK https://t.co/U9DFNlRMl5

The trio of Lewis, Whitney and Maxey also have a group chat together, and anything like this is a good sign for the Cats.
It appears that this decision is going to be a two-way battle between Florida and Kentucky. While majority of the experts are saying Florida is the move for Lewis, I have learned in the Cal era to never count him out of a recruiting battle.
