Good morning Big Blue Nation! It’s a beautiful football Saturday as our Kentucky Wildcats look to go 3-0 against the Murray State Racers visit Kroger Field.
If you can’t make it out to the game today, turn on the SEC Alternative Network at 12:00 PM to catch the action.
The hope is that the Cats can avoid any hangover from beating the Florida Gators a week. Honestly I think getting the Racers at home after last week is the perfect follow up game. There really isn’t much danger of an upset and the opponent isn’t good enough to be a threat.
But that hasn’t always been the case. I can remember in the not so distant past when Kentucky failed to blow out EKU and Eastern Michigan. I also remember a home loss against Southern Miss.
The best case scenario would be a 21-0 halftime lead that allows Kentucky to rest starters like Benny Snell. I would like to avoid a situation like against Austin Peay where a banged up Stephen Johnson had to enter the game to save his team’s bacon.
Tweets of the Day
The Ozymandias episode of Breaking Bad aired five years ago today. The best, hardest to watch episode of any TV show ever.

The greatest drama in the history of TV and the single greatest episode in the history of TV.
Keldon Johnson said it best: "I think we had just as much fun as the kids. ... It really makes our day to see the kids smiling and having fun."

John Calipari always pushes servant leadership with his players. I think this year’s team is getting it more than most.
The UK Ticket Office is now open at Kroger Field between Gates 9 and 10.

I don’t think it will be a sell out but I get the feeling fans will be out in greater numbers after last week’s win at Florida. At least that’s my hope.
Quickies
Three keys and a prediction | Courier-Journal- It’s all about improvement today as the keys are Kentucky-centric. The prediction is very much one I would like to see.
Kentucky volleyball smokes Louisville | UK Athletics- Make it six straight for Coach Skinner and his team as the Cats blast the Cards 3-0. Kentucky is 2-0 in fall sports against the Dirty Birds.
Week 3 bold predictions | Saturdays Down South- I think we can all get behind this bold prediction:
Kentucky: C.J. Conrad awakens
The senior tight end is one of the most complete players in the nation, but Kentucky has never utilized him much in the passing game (five catches for 12 yards this year). With the ground game fairly well established, this week will be about getting Terry Wilson a few more possibilities in the air attack — which is where Conrad comes in. How about a nice six-catch, 80-yard, two-TD kind of game?
It sure would be nice to get the big guy going.
Three keys to build momentum heading into today | Cats Illustrated- As I stated in the opening, it will be really disappointing if Kentucky struggles with Murray State at all in this game. It’s all about momentum going into a crucial game against Mississippi State next week.
John Calipari is hosting 5 star Scottie Lewis | Cats Pause- All the momentum is building for the wing. But I wouldn’t count anything out with Cal’s resurgence on the recruiting trail. Even if Lewis opts for the Gators, I think the Cats will be just fine with Kahlil Whitney.
UK to honor 10 elite teams | UK Athletics- UK will honor 10 teams across all sports throughout the 2018-2019 sports seasons. Those teams will include all of Adolph Rupps championship teams and the 1993 Final Four team.
Friday night football scores | WDRB- The Trinity Rocks now fall to 0-5 on the season. I didn’t go to Trinity but watching this team fail tremendously would be like watching the Alabama Crimson Tide do the same. It’s astounding.
Who stands to lose the most in road games this week? | ESPN- The Washington Huskies top the list as they visit the Utah Utes. But Bama, Ohio State, and Oklahoma are all facing tough road tests as well.
Week 3 picks | CBS- This week’s action is a big upgrade from last week. The Kentucky game is early so you can catch the rest of the day’s action.
